Hey guys!

So I have a 2018 Kia Optima, 310,000 kms. Google says the life expectancy is 280,000.

So my issue is that the oil fills up my spark plugs every 4-6 months. And they need to be swapped out. I’ve done this 2 times.

My mechanic says to replace the engine. Used engine is $4700, with 100km. Mechanic says everything else looks fine, transmission, body, etc. Labour is about $1500 and I’ve allotted $500 for gaskets/fluid top ups.

I’m not a car guy. Or a car girl. At all. It’s paid off. Should I replace the engine and have it for another 2-4 years for $6700 or should I just bite the bullet and take out another car loan?

Is replacing the engine worth it? Any advice is much appreciated, thank you for your time/opinions.
