    You see, that’s the fun thing about a Political Action Committee.

    They are not directly working with the candidate, they are wholly independent. Meaning the candidate is not taking any money, regardless of the source.

    And since companies are people, and money is speech, the PAC can get money from where they please, and do with it what they want.

    They only need to make sure no evidence of direct cooperation between the PAC and the candidate can be found.

    Although direct cooperation is not really needed, running ads for a candidate and trashing the other can be done perfectly fine completely independent. Plus it gives a candidate deniability.

      Honestly, they should treat them as campaign donations. Like if I donate pins or something, that’s a donation… they’re donating goods. And that should expose their financials.

      I know. It’ll never happen. But still.
