Today, Celine Dionā€™s management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing ā€œMy Heart Will Go Onā€ at a Donald Trump /JD Vance campaign rally in Montana. In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use. ā€¦And really, THAT song?

Right? If theyā€™re fine suing a grandma whose grandkids got a song from Napster (and lost them $0 of actual sales), then suing a campaign using it publicly should be a no-brainer, slam dunk.

I donā€™t know if itā€™s the case with her specifically, but most popular musicians donā€™t actually own their own music, so they donā€™t have any legal recourse.

Thatā€™s why the Mango Mussolini isnā€™t being sued by musicians left and right: almost all popular music in the world is owned by two or three conglomerates whose CEOs play golf with Trump or someone in his inner circle.

They never make a lawsuit their opening move, first itā€™s a cease and desist, but donā€™t count on Sony Music Canada to do nothing.

Probably not worth their time considering the long line of people wait for the Trumps to pay their debts.
