In a tongue-in-cheek delivery, Bianco implied he was done fighting against the tide and trying to enforce the laws and thus, “switching teams” and instead endorsing a convicted criminal in Trump.
“I think it’s time that instead of letting them out of jail and and giving them alcohol and drugs and everything else, I think it’s time we put a felon in the White House,” Bianco said.
Right, the entire thing was sarcasm. But his point was “hey we’re letting off these petty criminals in my state, so I’m just gonna say it’s completely fine to put a felon in the White House”
His whole point was to mock the Democratic leadership of his state, trying to equate their criminal justice reform to Trump’s conviction. As if they are even remotely related

Before he was a felon, I couldn’t stand him, but now he has experienced the abuses of the criminal justice system that is a daily fact of life for so many, particularly black people, and I think we should have a president who understands their plight.”
Now, that would be deadpan sarcasm, but I’d say that. Which is what I really thought the article was saying. I read it multiple times trying to understand what was going on.
