It’s so nice to cycle around cities that have good cycling infrastructure, particularly when it’s properly separated from car traffic. You get to see a lot very quickly, because you’re moving so much faster than walking but also not in a metal box having to watch the other metal boxes

I just wish bi directional multi use dirt roads were wider in my town. They aren’t any wider than a residenial sidewalk and I feel like I’m in a walking only path.

I can’t ride a bike, but ive been carless for a few years. I just got into a “cheap” car cause va disability may get killed by Trump.

I plan on using the bus anyway where I can, but I’ve been driving around to get back in the swing and comfortable with the car. I HATE IT. 🤣 just lemme zone out on the bus with my book, JFC.

Yeah for real. People often say that cars are quicker but they don’t realize what you could be doing while you are on public transport. i.e. reading a book, reading websites, browsing lemmy whatever!

I recently moved to a new place and people were expecting me to buy a new car.

    Nope, I bought a cycle. I don’t need a car unless it’s absolutely essential.

I was taking my kid on a bike ride a few months ago and there is a 2 way bike lake on one side, that used to be a turning lane. There was a car in the bike lane and i just stoped in front of her and said “yo this is a bike lane wtf” to her and had a stand off for a minute, until she got into the car lane.
