Haven’t heard many people talk about the possibility of our first alien encounter being artificial life. Think it might be more plausible that alien contact if/when it ever happens may be with artificial life considering how inhibiting space travel could potentially still be for even the most advanced civilizations.
Like us when we sent Voyager 1 & 2 into space. Although they aren’t considered artificial life since they are not sentient. It’s completely realistic to propose an artificial life form for initial contact with a civilization rather than an organic being.
Also seeing how we’re are essentially on the precipice of skynet, it’s also safe to assume a more advanced civilization would either already have created artificial life or a civilization thay would have already been replaced by artificial life.
Just a thought that popped in my head. What are your thoughts?
