Depends what they mean by “traditionally” and its iimplications.Did it used to be Hungarian? Sure, at some point it was. So if by “traditionally” they mean “formerly”, fine. It’d be an interesting move if neighboring countries (Ukraine) agreed to this, provided that Hungary at the same time relinquished any claim on the same territory, and Orban got his tongue out of Putins ass.

After all, there are many territories that is “traditionally” part of a different country. Karelia, Königsberg, Northern Ireland, Tibet, Hawaii, just to name a few. But the world has (mostly) moved on out of pragmatism.

Pragmatism here mainly meaning not wanting to be murdered by an occupying white supremacist state.

Hungarians are too clingy to Trianon, even today. They seem to think that these territories were actually traditionally Hungarian, despite being ethnically and culturally different but a very infamous census made in 1910 considered all these people Hungarian because they spoke the language to some extent.

Do they want a piece? Well, they can go fuck themselves because neither they nor their bestie Russia will get any.

Let’s hope so. With every passing day this situation is more likely to become a mixture of East Germany and North Korea. Whether the West recognizes eastern Ukraine as Russian or not will be irrelevant. The only “upside” is that Putin’s Russia doesn’t look like it will be able to sustain itself for as long as the Soviet Union could after WW2.

Nobody is doubting the growth potential of “BICS” (if you will), countries which aren’t currently spending heaps on destruction. China is making one hell of a bargain at Russia’s expense too.

But I do envy the person that is able to see potential in a country that needs to contract North Korean soldiers for its war efforts.

Russians predicted this before special military operation.

For example, Putin mentions this outcome many years ago, if Russia decides to take on Ukraine.
